Daryl Supernaw is the councilman for the 4th district. Although he is not part of the LBUSD board, he does have access to speak directly to them. Additionally, Daryl is up for re-election and there are several viable candidates we may want to consider. Elected officials must make their constituents concerns their priority. This move to split Minnie Gant must be a priority for him.

Jill Baker is the Superintendent of School for Long Beach Unified School District. Jill Baker holds a tremendous amount of influence and clout within the district. She cannot allow the planning for this move to continue without direct feedback from the parents and community.

David Miranda is the Executive Director of Facilities Development & Planning. David appears to be the lone architect behind the move, to move Minnie Gant. I encourage to email him directly your feedback. He has already failed to deliver on his promise to provide us a FAQ by Jan 1, 2024. David is asking for ‘more time’ to complete a comprehensive plan. Please click on his image to send him an email directly.
We are concerned about the lack of communication, lack of representation and fed up with the accepted status quo LBUSD represents. LBUSD has a plan for 2035, what about 2025? They are making plans for the next decade without any consideration of the effects they are causing to our current kids.
We have no aspirations to get involved politically, but this city and school board has its priorities in the future and negating the present. Family and community are core pillars at Minnie Gant that make it one of the best schools in Long Beach. We strongly encourage the LBUSD Board to take our concerns seriously and hold open forum town halls with the parents of Minnie Gant.
